Its Best Not Knowing

                                                             It's Best Not Knowing

I (Sitting down for the 1st time in a couple of months writing, as I've been ill as of late. But knowing that this is my warmup for getting back into the habit.)

It is best not to know is the thought that if you knew what it would take to get to this particular time, some people might say NO THANKS!!! I can think of three examples (off the top of my head) that I did not know and one that did. I am one of them.

Jacob had more than a couple of these, but I will talk about 1 of them. Jacob went to work for Laban with the thought that he would marry Rachel in seven years. Laban pulled a 52 fake out on him when he discovered that he married Leah. That is not the person he desired. that person was Rachel. However, you can have the girl of your dreams for an additional seven years. However, this was not the plan seeing that Jacob would have Twelve sons. They were Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Judah (from Leah), Dan Naphtali (via Bilah handmaid of Leah), Gad, Asher Via Zilpah, another handmaid of Leah, as Leah was barren for a time, and it was the custom to have the handmaiden bear children in the wife's stead during that period. Issachar via Leah Zebulun Dinah, the only girl, and joseph Rachel's first and only child before she died during Labor. Those children were blessed based on the promise from God given to Abraham. The question I thought of when reading this was, "I guess it is a good thing that Jacob did not know the plan ahead of time as it did not look like a good start; however it worked out well for all of us eventually.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. They were a bit envious and planned his demise and the subsequent coverup. Joseph found himself in Egypt as a slave. However, he found favor with his employer Potiphar. He got a MeToo charge levied upon him by the wife of Potiphar, which landed him in prison because  Joseph refused to betray his boss and join her in a dishonorable manner. He would not lie with her as she desired. (you know ill tell him you did even if you didn't) Joseph was seventeen when he went to Egypt and thirty when he came out on top. After being appointed as the second most powerful person in Egypt, he was unrecognizable to his brothers when they came during the seven lean years that he saw in his dream. Still, Joseph knew them and asked for the youngest Benjamin to be brought to him to test how the brothers felt about him secretly placing a cup in a grain bag and then having his men catch them and bring Benjamin to him. Benjamin was not part of the circumstances that brought Joseph to Egypt Joseph was testing him an exciting turn of events happened after Joseph would not release Benjamin. Judah offered himself in exchange for Benjamin. It is interesting to follow the lineage from that point forward. Judah's line goes though Jesus and the apostle Paul through Benjamin. In this case, it would be very beneficial for joseph not to know the ending ahead of time

I wrote a short essay about going back in time to meet myself at the Silas International Hotel in Manila in 1982. Seeing that version of me of that time had met my uncle (that looked amazingly like I do now), it was easy pulling the wool over my own eyes. I said the last thing to myself as I can give you some advice. You don't need the things you think you need. You don't have to get the approval of others to be recognized, and that girl upstairs is not suitable for you. Trust me. Upon my return to the present, I could not find my car. There was a page for me, and an envelope was left for me with a set of car keys, a CD, and instructions. The note's first thing was to look at your Retired ID card. It was Emmanuel O Crawford, SGMST retired.

I went to the parking lot to the noted area and hit the keylock—a new four-door Ford F150 with all the bells and whistles. The note on the dash said to tell the car to go home and go where it says. I was surprised because I did not retire as a Senior Master Sergeant. I lived in the same town but not in the same house. It was immense and had all the technological upgrades and improvements, and it was impressive. My two Natural daughters were there, and a wall-sized picture of Connie, my wife, passed away in 1987. My daughters greeted me, and I knew I had changed something in the past that changed my future. The thought was if you go back to change one thing, one can change everything. I then searched for my present family, trying to help them anonymously. One thing can cause a chain of events whose outcome is unknowable. Knowing how it turned out is not for us to know. The plans we make are the things that bring humor to the throne of heaven.

There is one instance of a person that knew what would happen and did it anyway. The agony of that knowledge was represented by sweating drops of blood while the human prayed for a different outcome which is human nature as it is difficult to choose death.   However, the will of the man bent to the will of his father. The human submitted his personal human needs for the  duty that was the mission from the beginning  And we are all the better for the experience.
